I am definitely NOT saying our new digs are move in ready. They are decidedly NOT! But out current house sitting situation allowed us to purchase a home we could spend time renovating and we will be doing a lot of that between now and when we move in August.
Grammy will be living on the first floor and we will be living on the second and third floors. We currently have no kitchen so a big part of the renovation is gutting the second floor almost entirely and creating an open concept kitchen, living and dining area. We have sat down with an incredible architect who put our vision on paper and we have begun the tear down process. The house needs lots of love but it has great bones and it will be great when it is all completed. Here is a little tour of what we are starting with....
Enclosed Porch/Entryway from Back...
Grammy's Kitchen (I know...yikes! Lots of cleaning and love going into this part!!)
Grammy's Sitting Room
Front Entry Way ( I am picturing a little antique desk under those stairs!!)
Me & Tom's Bedroom...
Bathroom (needs some love but that will likely come later!)
R's Room....
Little Play Room....
Current bedrooms, hall & bath which are being demoed for our living space...
In all of our excitement I forget to snap picture of A&W's room(my favorite in the house!) and a few spaces in Gram's living area and our porches so that will come next time. I did get this shot of our gardens which we can't wait to bring back to life....
We obviously have a project on our hands but we are really excited about it and can't wait to see how it all unfolds. Stay tuned for updates!
I will be giving weekly updates on our progress along with some of our decorating ideas (and likely mishaps!). I will also share the products we are using and, as always, be on the lookout for some fantastic giveaways! So, if I seem quiet for a few days in a row, I am probably elbow deep in a renovation project but will be back with a burst of giveaway posts (I have LOTS to share with you!!).
Happy Sunday and I hope you enjoyed the first look at "Mom's Renovation Boot Camp"!

Congrats. How exciting!
We bought a house a year ago this week and we have been doing nothing but fixing it up and making it our own. It is fun! I love that stained glass window so pretty.
Congrats! The house looks wonderful! :)

All the snapshots showed that the house is still in top quality – it was well-maintained. But of all, I just can’t keep my overflowing fancy for R’s room. Attics just have a different appeal. It must be fun customizing your place to live and deciding whose territory is this and that. Good luck in your renovation!
Wow! Purchasing a large property is a testament to your financial stability. But the fact that it is 'spacey' also means that there's more room for work. Decorating your own home can be tiring, but definitely very fulfilling. Have fun!
