I have a new bedtime (or any time!) book for the kids...Good People Everywhere by Lynea Gillen. This book is an absolute gem and a positive read to remind children that good people truly do surround us and that it is up to each of us to become a good person too. Here are the details....
A soothing story to help children become mindful of the beautiful, caring people in their world. Each page delightfully unfolds with endearing examples and vibrant illustrations to inspire children to grow into grateful and giving people. A wonderful way to send your child to sleep, ease their fears and develop a sense of gratitude.
Includes two bonus activities to encourage children to recognize the good people in their lives.
The first page of the book reads "Today, in neighborhoods all over the world, millions and millions of people are doing very good things". Each page after that depicts how different people from different walks of life bring good to the world. From teachers teaching children, to dancers bringing joy to their communities, to farmers delivering fresh food to grocers, to doctors delivering babies, to a friend helping another when he has fallen with a skinned knee, the list goes on and on depicting all the different ways you can find good. The book ends with "Today, millions and millions of people will do very good things. And so will you. I wonder what you will do?" Boy, do I love this book and the message it delivers. Lots of times children are told to be good but, what exactly IS good anyway?? This book describes how being kind in our day to day lives spreads good far and wide and it encourages children to think about the things they do that help make them good people. Good People Everywhere has sparked lots of fun and meaningful conversations for the kids and me. It is a nice way to remind our children (and ourselves!) that the "little" things sure do add up to a whole lot of good! I also want to mention that the illustrations (done by Kristina Swarner) are lovely with soft lines and colors which are just perfect for the flow of the book. Pick up your copy today....
I am so pleased to tell you that one lucky RBM reader will win a copy of Good People Everywhere by Lynea Gillen. Thanks so much to the sponsor and here is how to enter...
